Quality Laboratory

The matter of quality of a structure existed in the ancient world. In India, the quality was directly related to the ability to measure. All measuring instruments were “calibrated” to a standard. Due to lacking normal measuring units, the standard “cubit” was set by Pharaoh, which was a stick that matches the length of the Pharaoh’s forearm. Every builder in the nation was required to have his standard cubit stick checked and calibrated. Failure to comply with this regulation would cost the builder’s life.

In the early years of the last century, engineers were responsible for the manufacture and development of the early aircraft. Some of the people would not fly the plane unless the engineer accompanied them on their first flight. Things haven’t changed much from the Roman Empire era. The engineer’s flying in the plane is similar to the engineer’s standing under the bridge. the effect is the same, only the technology has changed. In the last decades, many accepted definitions for the term “quality” had been set.

For the engineering structures, quality can be divided into three major categories:

  1. Quality of design
  2. Quality of conformance to design
  3. Quality of performance

Our Quality laboratory is occupied with different quality measurement equipment like Spectrometer, Hardness tester, Surface Roughness Tester, and Profile Projector quality measurement equipment. Moreover,  we have Several leakage testing machines that are working with both gas and under-water applications.
